Also, you can just have a walk in the streets of New Romney to explore and discover its beautiful pubs, shops and restaurants. Around New Romney there are many beautiful cities to visit. Dover, Folkestone, Ashford and Hastings are just a few examples. If you wish to travel to England's capital city London, you can go there – it is only one hour away by car .

New Romney : History

In the latter part of the thirteenth century, a series of severe storms weakened the coastal defences of Romney Marsh and the South England flood of February 1287 almost destroyed the town. The harbour and the town were both filled with sand, silt, mud and debris.

Since it's never been entirely removed from the town, many old buildings, especially the church, have steps leading down into them from the present pavement level. New Romney is the main centre of population on the Romney Marsh and was founded in 1610 by John Southland.

New Romney Location

New Romney is located just a few miles from the sea, which makes it an amazing place for tourists. Although New Romney is surrounded by big cities such as Ashford, Folkestone and Hastings, it remains its charm.

If you wish to, you can look at the sunset in the evening while sitting on the beach. It is an amazing city to do sports, to enjoy the countryside of England and to enjoy the nature that makes New Romney one of the most beautiful cities in Kent.
